Description
You are looking at the Sonare TRC-900S trumpet (Serial # 062143). This horn was purchased new and is in excellent condition (No dents or dings). It is about a year 1/2 old, has very low mileage on it and is very clean. When I received the horn it has some factory defect with the plating on the rim of the bell. There are some tiny bubbles under the silver plate on the player side of the bell (approximately 10) which have not changed for better or worse after cleanings. These in no way effect the playability or sound of the horn, but I felt they should be mentioned. They are pictured below, although it was hard to show them in the picture because they are pretty inconspicuous. The horn comes with an unused blackburn 3C mouthpiece, Sonare Polishing cloth, Sonare locking case (with 2 keys), and a bottle of Ultra Pure Valve oil. The price reflects a reduction in cost because of the minor plating defect, so this is someone's chance to get a fantastic horn at a great price. The item will ship priority with insurance. Here is some information I pulled up from Osmun music: http://www.osmun.com/prod/Sonare/sonare.html TRC-900SNew trumpet from Sonare Winds (division of Powell flutes). A combination of German and American manufacturing with the experience of several top level manufacturers and designers, this new trumpet will be an explosive new pro trumpet that you will have to try! Features: German made body Sterling Silver Blackburn *Sizzling Hot* Handcrafted leadpipe (made in USA) Blackburn designed 3C mouthpiece Adjustable MicroLok (tm) (patent pending) valve guide for superior alignment without re-soldering! Cryogenic Treatment Quality tested by an experienced, Blackburn- trained technician before shipping Bright Silver Plate The Sonaré is built in Markneukirchen, Germany by JA Musik, a privately owned company that also makes B&S and Schertzer trumpets and Hoyer horns. The workers at JA have years of experience and most are graduates of the German government's rigorous training system. The [leadpipe] was designed and manufactured especially for this instrument by noted designer Cliff Blackburn. One of the most notorious problems affecting trumpets is valve alignment. Virtually all mass-produced trumpets have discrepancies in the way the ports in the piston line up with the ports in the casing, both vertically and horizontally. This is due most often to the cumulative error in machining the many parts that go into a piston valve assembly. A difference of .003" can usually be felt by a sensitive player——we often find mis-alignments of .020" or more in top-of-the-line pro horns. Sonaré's solution to this problem is unique. They've developed a patented valve guide called Microlock™ that enables them to accurately set the alignment of each individual valve before the horn leaves the factory. Microlock™ also makes it easy to readjust the valve alignment if it's ever necessary. Cryogenic processing is a process we're often asked to perform. The science behind it still isn't entirely clear but most players feel that it makes the instrument feel more "broken in" and more stable. Sonaré is the only maker (of trumpets) that offers cryogenic processing on their new instruments. Each Sonaré trumpet is carefully inspected and play tested before it leaves the factory. When it arrives in the US it's unpacked and inspected, play tested and adjusted by our own Jim Becker. Each instrument is about as perfect as it can be. In days gone by people used to think that they had to try a dozen trumpets to pick out the "good" one. Well, variability is a function of quality control. If you build them the same they'll play the same. Naturally, if you have two to choose from, you may prefer one or the other. Nevertheless, Sonaré doesn't make any "dogs". Happy bidding and good luck. Thanks for stopping by.
