Description
4 SALE TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER 1969(SureGC) 1970 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop Well, here is the story on this Guitar, Center of Attention, right now and for awhile, as I doubt that it will sell at the starting bid that I have set!! SOOOOOOOOO . . I wanted a 1969 Gibson LP Deluxe Goldtop for playing and investment purposes, so I had been watching on the Grand Bay of E’s, when I wandered into my local Mayfield Hts. Center of Guitars, Guitar Center or whatever name it is that they go under, GC, GLP . . . . lo and behold here is this fabulous “1969 Gibson LP Deluxe Goldtop” in GC (Good Condition) could also stand for (GUITAR CENTER) Advertised price was $4995, I believe. I have the sticker somewhere, it is not important right now, what is important is that the TRUTH BE REVEALED TO OTHER UNSUSPECTING BUYERS!! BEWARE OF THE CONCEALED TRUTHS THAT MAY BE LURKING AT THE GREAT GC!!! Soooooooo . . . I was assured that everything had been documented by Corporate Headquarters in Whoooolywood, and of course by the dynamic duo of Batman & Robin, oh wrong movie theater, the Burst Bros, Dave Belzer and his partner who I do not know his name. Anyway, a year later I happened to run into a man from Concord Ohio that refurbs vintage amps. After a long phone conversation about vintage guitars and amps, he started to tell me a story about how he had sold a 1970 Gibson LP Deluxe to the local Mayfield Hts Oh GC (GUITAR CENTER), and how crooked they were. He had sent this guitar in with a friend as they had turned him down the year b4 at two shows one in Columbus Ohio and I think he said a Philadelphia show also. Then suddenly, they decided to buy this from him for the amazing low price of I think he said 2,500. Now, this did not even seem to make much difference to me until he said the magic words, they immediately put it on display in a prominent area as a 1969 LP Deluxe Goldtop. Suddenly I felt a little nauseous, not that I would have thrown up or anything, BUT to make a long story short, I pulled the guitar out, he almost remembered the pot codes to the week and lo and behold, my 69 LP, was now a 70 and I was not very happy!!!!!!!! OH GC , OOOOOH GC, OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH GC WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME, OOOOOOOOOOOOH GC WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME!!!!! Well after a bit of bitchin I was put in touch with Grant Sheffield, who is VP of GC, and he assured me that Dave would make this right whatever it took. I wanted a 1969 Gibson LP Deluxe Goldtop! It is a year and a half later and I still do not have one. Sure they made me an offer, they wanted to buy the guitar back at a profit to me, but there was no guitar involved, and when I came back with a counter offer they rebuked it , scorned me , chastised me, well not really, but they did not like my offer which I felt was reasonable!!!! Actually Dave Belzer did accuse me of trying to commit blackmail, imagine that from a man who may have perpetrated a fraud. I think fraud is a crime and maybe that is how I should be pursuing this. It is not the end of the story, this will be a continuing saga of how the West Was Won, darn, wrong theater again, How the Best Can Have Fun or something like that. Thanks GC (Guitar Center ) for all the deceit, wasted time and energy you have caused me. No wonder I have been purchasing from the Grand Bay of E’s more frequently, keeps me out of the store, which is noisy and loud, saves gas and time, the choice is almost a no brainer !! If this does bother you at all, why not give GC a call at their corporate headquarters, 818-735-8800, press111 ext. 7433, then, press 1 again, and that gets you to Grant Sheffield’s voice mail, not sure if he will listen to it, but maybe we can get him to be a little more insistent with Dave Belzer to follow up and resolve this.
