Logo   Description   Re-finished Daphne Blue 1962 Stratocaster all original parts.  I would rate this guitar a solid 7/10 with these exceptions.  Clear coat on the upper inside horn around the pocket has worn away. There are a couple of indentations on the body, but nothing through the paint.  Guitar was inspected at professional vintage guitar store and all information offered was verified. Tone and playability is very good.   Follow link to youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5FF1qf99ic (played through a 2006 Fender Blues Deluxe Re-issue)   The body; According to the previous owner the body was refinished over the original Daphne Blue by  Darryl  Pura  of  Puraguitars.com  who  a  Master Luithier  and  a  Fender  Licinced  Depot He used  Fender  paint. White undercoat can be seen with a similar Daphne Blue layer on top, in the neck pocket. The clear coat has a nice vintage amber color to it.  No serious modifications were made with the exception of one extra screw hole was drilled in the pick guard where the guard cracked near the neck pickup.  I was told this is common as when these crack they tend to lift and curl.   The Neck; the neck should be rated a 7/10. This is a 2 piece slab board neck. Marked 1-62 and is a 2 pat. logo. Little wear on upper fret board.  It has no other modifications other than it was refinished over the original finish. Logo decal is original and under the finish.  Nicely ambered vintage finish.  The neck was professionally re-fretted 3 or 4 years ago with original size fret wire.    The Hardware; is all original hardware for the guitar is included. Including ash tray cover, Trem bar, and Fender strap.  The modifications are as follows:  The 3 way selector switch was changed out for a 5 way, original 3 way switch is included.  Tone control wire was moved from the middle pickup to the bridge pickup.  Suspected changed wire to the output jack. As stated in the body description there is an extra screw hole in the pick guard, which was installed prior to 1974. Screw was properly counter sunk into pick guard and does not affect playability.  The bumpers under the screws where the pickup attaches to the pick guard were upgraded with newer bumpers.  The original bumpers are included.  The Nut was replaced when it was refretted.  The original nut is also included. Pots are numbered 6143 dating them to the 43rd week of 61.  The serial number is 69XXX.    The case; this is a well used case in average to better than average condition.  Hinges are tarnished but in excellent working condition.  The latches are in working condition with the exception that the springs no longer work. The handle has been taped over with black electrical tape.   The Vintage Guitar Price Guide 2008 puts this guitar at $40,000 to $57,000 in original excellent condition.  Considering the condition and modifications to this guitar the price was adjusted accordingly.   If more pictures are required please send email as eBay will only allow 12 pictures to be uploaded.
