Description
I have for sale a 1946 Martin D-28L serial #95272. IT IS A HOSS! It is a left-handed model of the legendary D-28. It has a right-handed bridge and a right-handed pickguard installed. The original left-handed bridge is in the case that looks to be original as well. I have tried to show all blemishes in the enclosed pictures. It appears to be structurally sound. I’m listing this for a friend of mine and he took the pictures to Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. Here’s what George Gruhn has to say about it:   “The guitar described below is, in our opinion, a Martin style D-28L made in the year 1946.   Serial number 95272. This guitar was originally left-handed as designated by the L in the model number. It has its original left-handed position pickguard and an added black pickguard in the right-hand position. The bridge has been changed to a right-handed recent style Martin bridge. The end pin is a replacement and a strap button has been installed on the heel of the neck. The guitar shows significant playing wear. In other respects it conforms to the typical specifications of the model for the period in which it was made with D size body, Brazilian Rosewood back, sides, and peghead veneer, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, dot fingerboard in lays, zig-zag back stripe, white ivoroid binding on the top and back edges of the body, open back nickel plated tuners, and Sitka spruce top with herringbone edge trim and non-scalloped bracing.   Current market value in its present condition $20,000 (twenty thousand dollars)   George Gruhn”   This is one fine guitar that won’t last long. So bid high and bid often! Don’t let this one slip away!   Now for the disclaimer: PLEASE READ THIS THOROUGHLY AND IN ITS ENTIRETY! It goes as is, no returns. What you see is what you get. I accept PayPal ONLY from the USA. If you have 0 winning bids, positive feedback of less than 95% or just don’t understand this, please email me before you bid or I will be forced to cancel it. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I’ve been burned too many times. Send me your physical shipping address, no P.O. Box, as I use UPS ground ONLY unless other arrangements have been made. I will insure your package for the winning bid amount. I ship to the lower 48 states U.S.A. only! If I don’t have a response within 3 days after winning the bid, I will re-list this item. Serious bidders only please. Email me if you have any questions. Please check out my other auctions too! Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
