Description
This is a vintage 115 year old (1893) Steinway and Sons Grand Piano. It is a Model A, Serial # 83213. It is 6'1" long, Ebony Satin finish, and has 1 piece ivory keys in perfect condition. It was completely rebuilt in the 1950's, and the action was overhauled in 2000 and has no sign of verdigris, and the pinblock is solid. It has EXCELLENTand beautiful tone. The bench is the original that came with it, matches the piano, and opens for music storage. It has belonged to one owner since 1934 and has been very lovingly taken care of. I had 2 appraisals for it done in 2005, both saying it is in excellent condition, especially considering its age. I was told at both the appraisals that, if this piano were to be refinished, its retail value would be worth $55,000.00. It is currently in the process of being refinished and will have a new Ebony Satin finish. It will be finished at time of purchase (5 to 7 days) . It can be viewed or played in Albuquerque at Albuquerque Piano and Organ Service, please contact Martin Garcia at 505-263-3606 or Robert Ramirez at 505-304-5475 to see/play it. (Photographs shown are BEFORE refinishing). Asking $29,500.00, but will consider all REASONABLE offers. Pick-Up and Delivery: Buyer is responsible for all moving/shipping costs. Insurance and the use of a professional piano mover is highly recommended. Seller is not responsible for any damages aquired in the moving/shipping of the piano (Albuquerque Piano and Organ Service are reputable piano refinishers and movers since 1972 and can give you moving/shipping and insurance costs and information) Vintage Steinways are an extremely sound investment, as well as a joy to play. As can be seen in the charts of Historical Appreciation of Steinways, the value of a Steinway does nothing but rise over time (they are worth more than gold! Please see the article at steinway.com) "an instrument that combines the joy of musical perfection with the security and reassurance of financial appreciation. It is, quite simply, a treasured possession that grows in value over the course of time". Please contact me with any questions you might have. Thank you.
