Description
Play anything easily. Middle C is 44 grams actuation force due to Everard action. Offered for sale here is a 6 foot Baby Grand Piano made by Hagspiel & Comp. Hof-lieferanten, Dresden. This is piano #3330 dated Feb. 2, 1852. Restored by R.E. Lee, Jr. 2/16/1967 with new dampers, wrest pins, strings, ivory keys, hammers, and velvet covered wrest plate. Looks like new, even though 156 years old. This is the piano type with Everard action that Chopin and Liszt played on, and composed for. Everything is played easily due to low force, 44 gm, of playing Middle C. This 44 gm actuation force may be compared with Middle C 90 gm actuation force of 1936 Kurtzmann 9 foot grand piano (copy of 1936 Steinway Model D), and further compared with 180 gm Middle C actuation force of 2008 Steinway Model D. The Everard action permits two to four times easier playing. This piano looks good, plays easiest of all pianos, and sounds like mid 1800's (softer, sweeter sounds than later model pianos). Original finish is burled walnut.
